What happens when too many folks lay claim to resources only adequate to sustain a few? The answer isn't pretty.

Are you prepared to lose out? The reality is that most of us will lose out. The odds of winning are about as good as at your local casino.

In a world of unlimited resources, competition produces excellence. Even if you lose, the situation isn't all that bad. It's possible to recover from your loss. But in a world of limited resources, competition results in extinction for all but the few who win. There is no recovery.

We live in a world of limited resources. You paint the picture of your future.

On the other hand, cooperative effort toward equitable and sustainable sharing could result in a great many winners and very few losers. But that would involve establishing a sophisticated group understanding of reality and an inspired vision for adapting to it, something guns, bombs, clubs, and religious fantasy will never achieve.
