If logic were the only consideration, we'd have an easier time deciding what to do in our lives. But personal decisions require the reconciliation of real life external conditions with knowledge, feelings, aspirations, beliefs, personal limitations, and available resources. You can't jump an object if you can't jump that high. You aren't going to want to go that way if it means abandoning things you've dreamed of and worked toward for a very long time. You won't enthusiastically embrace any change if you can't envision being pleased on the other end. Worry is the maddening process of trying to imagine a path to comfort for yourself in the face of necessity for change. And it helps to have an understanding supportive friend by your side. |
