Imagine being able to stand far back from your enemy, completely out of harm's way, and still deliver a defeating blow. Imagine the power, the prestige. But do not fail to imagine your enemy foreseeing just what you imagine, and him or herself imagining and developing an even more decisive counter-measure.

Sadly, there is no easy argument to be made that might short-circuit such a cycle of escalation toward mutually assured destruction. To talk to and give consideration to one's enemies would be tantamount to giving partial control over one's own life to one's enemy. How could that ever be stomached? It can't.

Clearly, imagination is at fault here. DOWN WITH IMAGINATION! Ignorance is bliss! BURN ALL IMAGINATIVE BLIGHTERS AT THE STAKE!
